Growing Smiles Winter Plant 2019 Fundraiser

Once again, Harbour View PAC will be participating in the Growing Smiles Winter Plant Fundraiser!

 

Beautiful poinsettias, wreaths and tropical planters are available to purchase to make the holiday season more festive around your home, office or to give as gifts to family and friends!

 

Please submit your order forms with payment, no later than Friday, November 15th. Orders will be delivered to the school on December 3rd and will be available to pick up in the Main Foyer between 3:00-4:00pm.

Growing Smiles Spring 2019 Plant Fundraiser

ūüĆ∑Our Spring Plant Fundraiser is now happening!

Orders with payments must be submitted no later than April 19th, 2019. Cash and cheques made out to Harbour View PAC are accepted. Order pick up is May 6th at Harbour View Elementary between 3-4pm.

All proceeds go to PAC to help funding for Hot Lunch, field trips, new school equipment, replacing old or damaged playground equipment, new books for the library, new learning equipment, team uniforms, and so much more!

Spring After School Programs

The Spring Session for our After School Programs has been set up now!

Mondays

Bricks 4 Kids

Dates: April 1, 8, 15, 29, May 6, 13, 27, June 3 (8 sessions)
Grades: K-5
Time: 3:00-4:00
Room:¬†#15 (Mr. Rahn’s classroom)
Cost: $110

Forces of Nature…..Fasten your seatbelts! We’re in for some wild weather! This unit is all about the powerful forces of nature with models that simulate the motion of a particular weather event. All students go home with a custom made Mini-figure at the end of the session.

MPower Your Inner Ninja (Dowhatuluv)

Dates: April 8, 15, 29, May 6, 13, 27, June 3, 10 (8 sessions)
Grades: 1-5
Time: 3:00-4:30
Room: Gym
Cost: $85

The mpowerment program will introduce your child to find their inner ninja through self-defense/martial arts, safety guidelines, fitness, and play. Social values such as respect, kindness, and compassion will develop their social-emotional learning.

Dates: April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28 (9 sessions)

Coquitlam Chill is changing the way it’s after school program is run by dividing it into the two sports most students wanted to play and removing grade restrictions. By reducing the amount of time each session and including one more session, students should be able to learn and engage more in the activities. The focus of both programs is on fun, inclusion, and to connect kids to the sports of basketball and soccer including but not limited to: dribbling, passing, shooting, and running as well as some interactive games the build on these two sports. The ratio of students to instructor is 10:1.

How to Register:
1. Paper copy of sports registration form and either cash/cheque in envelope placed in lockbox opposite the office.

2. E-transfer money in addition to sending an electronic copy or a scan of a paper copy to
coquitlamchill@hotmail.com

Spring into Drawing (Place des Arts)

In this class, learn the elements of drawing such as light and shadow, portrait and figure proportion drawing, and shading techniques. Then let loose, have fun, and incorporate what you’ve learned into your projects. Teacher: Ruth Hoyem

Science ALIVE is committed to providing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) based programming which encourages students to learn through hands-on engaging activities and demonstrations. Our after school programs are taught by trained university instructors who have a passion for teaching and science. Our general STEM senior program will introduce students to general STEM topics including chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, computer science, engineering and more!

Come and learn basic vocal technique and acting skills through singing a medley of songs from The Lion King. You’ll learn how to sing and perform with a group, and work towards a final presentation for family and friends on the last day of class.

The Winter Session for our After School Programs has been set up now!

Mondays

Intermediate After School Sports and Games Program (CCBA-Coquitlam Chill)

Dates: Mondays January 14th to March 11 (except Feb 18: Family Day)
Grades 3-5
Time:  3:00-4:30PM
Room #: Gym

How to register:  There will be a paper copy to fill in or register by filling in an electronic copy and emailing coquitlamchill@hotmail.com. See flyer for details.

Description: The focus of this specific program is on fun, inclusion, and to connect kids to a variety of sports and games. Sports will be dependent on the selection by parents who have enrolled their children in the program.

Cost: $70 for 7 sessions.

Primary Lego Robotics (Bricks4Kidz)

Dates:  Mondays January 7th to March 11 (except Feb 18; Family Day)

Elementary Musical Theatre Stars (Place Des Arts)

Description: A fun sports and games program with an emphasis on inclusiveness and a variety of sports and games activities for kids. Children will be guided and instructed on how to safely participate in a wide variety of games and sports such as tag games, basketball, soccer, cooperative games and minor games.Sports and games will be dependent on selected choices from registration form.
